5 TIPS THAT ARE THE BEST THING FOR DRY SKIN AND CALLUSES ON FEET

If you’re suffering from dry, cracked or unsightly skin or calluses on your feet, it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Fortunately, you can do plenty of things to treat dry skin and calluses. Read our list of recommendations to learn more.

1. HYDRATE SKIN ON YOUR FEET WITH A POTENT MOISTURISER

Dry skin on your feet is caused by moisture loss through the skin barrier. Several things can make this worse, such as dry air, hot water and the natural ageing process. Without moisture, dead skin cells(?) builds up and you end up with calluses.

But there’s one thing that really helps restore moisture and that’s a moisturiser. The LOVASKIN Instant nourishing hand and foot moisturiser leaves skin irresistibly soft and supple. Apply once or twice a day for the best results.

2. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER

If dry skin and calluses on feet are caused by a loss of moisture, then it shouldn’t surprise you to learn that regular hydration is essential. Fortunately, there’s a simple solution; drink six to eight cups of water throughout the day at one to two hour intervals. You can also get hydration through other liquids, such as herbal tea if you don’t like drinking plain water. But avoid fruit juice or any drinks that contain sugar, sweeteners or artificial colours, flavourings and preservatives.

On the other hand, while drinking water is good, bathing in water that is too hot can actually make matters worse. This might feel counter-intuitive, but there’s a simple explanation. Hot water can damage the skin barrier, meaning moisture is lost, causing dry skin. To avoid this, try showering (or bathing) in luke warm water, for less time and never allow your skin to go crinkly, as that is a sign of dehydrated skin!

3. EAT A NUTRITIOUS DIET

The food you eat (or don’t eat) can impact your skin’s health. As well as supporting your general health and immune system, vitamins can help to support the health of your skin. Vitamins D, C, E, and K are key vitamins for healthy skin. If you are on any medication and  considering taking vitamins to supplement your diet, always speak  to your doctor first.

4. LET YOUR FEET BREATHE

Wearing tight-fitting shoes that result in your feet sweating can be an issue, especially if you do this for hours at a time. At best, it’s uncomfortable. At worst, it can cause unpleasant health conditions like Athlete's foot.

Athlete’s foot is a fungal infection that begins between the toes. It’s called Athlete’s foot as it commonly affects people who wear sports shoes during training, but anyone can be affected. Athlete’s foot causes your skin to become dry and itchy. It is normally treated with over-the-counter medication, but you may need to speak to a doctor if it doesn’t improve within two weeks.

To avoid Athlete's foot, keep your feet dry, clean and cool and try wearing sandals some of the time if possible.

5. REMOVE DEAD SKIN WITH A PEEL-AND-FILE COMBO

If your feet don’t have enough moisture, dead skin and calluses can build up over time, especially if you wear closed-in socks or shoes and/or move around a lot. Fortunately, there’s an easy solution that can save you from visiting a chiropodist. The LOVASKIN Instant Foot Peel safely and gently removes dead skin and calluses, to leave your feet smooth and healthy-looking in less than 2 minutes.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
